Step 6: Learn from Past Campaigns
This step is applicable for All Campaigners
Estimated Time: 45 minutes - 1 hour
While doing anything, specially something new, it is a good idea to understand if something similar has already been done, and if so, how it was done including:
What worked well - things you would like to replicate when you do the same
What needs change/improvement - things you would like to avoid or change while doing the same.
As part of this step you're required to browse through the work of the past campaigners and learn from it - both from what they did well and the mistakes that they might have made. During this exercise focus on three aspects:
Content: The quality of the content. Example:
Is it too technical or too 'fluffy'?
Is the topic interesting and relevant?
Does the content increase your knowledge?
Is it credible?
Is it easy to understand and retain?
Delivery: The presentation of the content. Example:
Did the cover/start of the article/video motivate you to view it?
Is the volume in the videos audible?
Is the post easy to read and understand?
Social Media Use: How have the features of social media platform been used in it. Example:
What is the kind of content used on the specific platform?
Is there a written description with the visual content? How is it?
Are there tags used - how many?
Is there engagement on the content - liking, commenting and sharing?
Do you notice any difference in the engagement based on your observations about the content so far?
