Step 21: Email Marketing
This step is applicable for All Campaigners
Estimated Time: 1 hour
Email Marketing has been established as the one with the best performance (in terms of end-goal achievement) amongst the various methods of Digital Marketing. And, therefore, it is critical for you to use it when you do your campaigning.
Simply, your WhatsApp message may be lost in the 100s if not 1000s of messages a person may be receiving daily never to appear again. But, your email will remain in the person's inbox (assuming it reached there) for as long as the person does not view it.
Step 21.1: Draft Email to Create Awareness About Your Campaign Topic
Open your email client (gmail/yahoo/outlook etc.) and draft your email. Add your topic (title + sub-title) to the subject.
Your email should comprise of the following:
Short introduction about what you're doing: "Dear All, you'll be happy to know that I'm participating in ICIMWS - Integrated Campaigning for Improving the Mental Wellbeing of Society - as part of which I'm leading the awareness campaign on <Your Campaign Topic in Double Quotes>."
Your banner image.
A paragraph explaining the importance of the topic and why it is important for the recipient to be aware about it.
Conclusion comprising the links to resources. This is where you add the call to action - what you want them to do next.
Step 21.2: Discuss your email with the Editing Team in the Session
*This sub-step is applicable only for registered campaigners
Step 21.3: Send email to Your Contact List
As we discussed earlier your campaign as part of ICIMWS is general in nature, therefore, you may send it to all your friends and family. With a request to forward it to other people who they feel it may be relevant for.
Add all the emails from your contact list in BCC (here let's add 100 recipients as we don't want you to hit any limits set by your email provider).
To monitor and ensure error-free delivery, add ICIMWScampaign@psychotechservices.com in BCC and also one of your own emails (you may also use the same one, but different is better.)
Add your topic (title + sub-title) to the subject.
Assuming you have your email already setup from the first step above, simply click on Send.
That's it. You're done!
